Elizabethan Style Jewellery

Made my own Elizabethan Style Brooch and a bit less practical but beautiful Ring. Inspiration came from being slightly obsessed with a particular person from the era, I often visit her Home and admire the needlework. This piece reminds me of the colours and the attention to detail of the era, what do you think?

Meet me on Ravelry

Fantastic site for knitters but ESPECIALLY crocheters as it seems in the UK like asking for a crochet pattern is like asking for gold dust. So find me and say Hi by popping on over to www.ravelry.com/people/Rustyfish
You can look at the items ive made and comment or look up patterns from Revelry, Books, Magazines, the internet.... Look up yearns and see what others made with them, join the forums and groups, get advice and more I love it :)

Meet the Sock Monsters

I have never introduced my Sock Creatures so here goes: Vincent Bad Bunny.

Vincent began life as a simple white sock, jumping around from an early age it was soon clear he needed to become a rabbit. Made from a single stray sock as a bunny he travelled a lot appreciating the beauty of the world around him. I believe hes not really naughty but when he escapes, jumping away he is just searching for his long lost other half. On this occasion he was caught in a field of sunflowers at Shipley Park in Derbyshire.

Available to buy as a kit to make your own, Cards and Christmas Cards, enjoy

Renovation continues

Now the kids are back in school I am torn between house work, house renovation and Rustyfish making..... Here's the latest on the house photos. Unfortunately the stairs them selves were in a bad way and we replaced a few treads and other parts and decided it would have to be carpet, but I do love stripes!

Love the postman

It's not even my birthday and I'm so excited. The postman has brought me some new boxes!

The big ones I am hoping will be for my Sock Creature Kits, the medium ones...wait and see and the Small ones are for my Earrings. As although I love the postman I do not love Royal mail and this will save me their extortionate small parcel fees as my earrings can now pass as a large letter!

I'm off to dance with excitement now :)

Meet Eddie the Eagle Izzard

New Sock Creature is a tweet. Meet Eddie the Eagle Izzard. He maybe pink but he knows his skilift from his forklift and his fast tweeting, love of lipstick, jaunty ski masks and high heels has earnt him infamy across the bird world comedy circuits.
Will he become the next kit?A bit more sewing or customisation available with this one. Now where to put him.....

Resolved to Sew 2012

Our new old Victorian house will have heating soon!!!
In the meantime I am Resolved to Sew! Curtains and Draft excluders for obvious cold and drafty reasons, (just looking for patterns) Cushions and toys to make it more cosy and anything else I possibly can to make a homemade, cosy (less costly) home for my family,
Watch this space as I learn to use a sewing machine and put up work so far, not sure if draft excluder patterns still exisit?

To help in my progress I have entered  Very Berry Handmades Excellent Fabric Giveaway.... Resolved to sew
Just need a table and can fetch a sewing machine, pattern suggestions welcome :)

PS If I were to win I might go for the voucher for Fancy Moon I'd love browsing and buying from their shop they always have gorgeous fabrics in and I’d spending it easy :)

Update: Draft Excluder Pattern Found: on Cut out and Keeps Site and love the House door stop too!
They would look great in Very Berry's Fabric Giveaway... either from the Fat quarter bundle (3 FQs) of polka dots from Lake House/Tanya Whelan from Quilt Me Happy

or the Fat 16th bundle (9 fat 1/16ths) from Peacock Lane by Violet Craft from M is for Make
Please let me know of any other free and beginner sewing patterns out there on the web :)
